The SPCA of Westchester

Starting in the spring of 2025 I decided that going forward, all of my pet photo sessions would equal a $100 donation to the SPCA of Westchester. Located in Briarcliff Manor, the SPCA serves more than 5,500 animals a year and is recognized as the largest No-Kill Rescue Center in Westchester County. They are committed to finding homes for all adoptable animals regardless of space or length of stay. Many moons ago, my husband and I had our dog Pita, aka our first child, certified to be a therapy dog through the SPCA. Together we made weekly visits to a nursing home in Purdy's and to a children's hospital in Ossining where the residents adored him. He was even honored at the SPCA's annual gala fundraiser. Check out this photo circa 2007!I am a huge animal lover so anything I can do to contribute to their well being is so rewarding.

The ACLU

More recently I decided that going forward I will donate $100 to the ACLU for each family and newborn sessions I photograph.

There are so many wonderful organizations out there, and it’s hard to decide where to contribute when the need is so great everywhere. The ACLU is constantly fighting for equality and our civil liberties, which I deeply believe in. Supporting their work feels like a small but meaningful way to stand up for justice and protect the rights that belong to all of us.

  Local Love

Here are some additional local organizations that I love to support and share in their mission:

The Pantry is a weekly “choice pantry”, providing a selection of fresh produce, dairy, grains, and protein to our guests who may choose foods from each category. In this way our guests have food they know how to prepare and will enjoy.   We serve an average of 700 families every week from 21 local communities, which means over 2,000 individuals every week are well nourished enough to work, study, grow, and play.   We are a mostly volunteer-led organization that relies on the generosity of our volunteers, neighbors, and donors to unload food deliveries, stock shelves, pack produce, rescue food from local food donors, make home deliveries, assist our guests at distributions, and provide much-needed funding to support our operations. With both in-person and home delivery distributions, we work hard to reduce the worry that comes from not knowing where the next meal may come from.
